Accord(ing)

Intent & Process

Accord(ing) is a brisk 50-minute respite from the world, albeit a stunning and unnerving reflection of the times.
— Beltline to Broadway

In collaboration with SoundingLine Arts, we have created a sensorially immersive world of performance art with the explicit intent of paying attention to human interiority. Utilizing both humor and drama, we examine how the human mind gathers, processes and decides truths. Movement is an integral component of the exploration, as are various forms of immersive theatre and experiential art. Audience members have access to a range of experiences throughout the theater space, encountering various moments, scenarios, interactions, installations and vignettes in which individuals are striving for connection, understanding or choosing courses of action; sometimes they are heroic, other times they’re unable to free themselves from the constraints of habitual patterns or the constricted looping of their thoughts.

Drawing on years of collaborative work with numerous Insight artists, we have developed a unique iconography illuminating the operations of human consciousness, a core tenet of Insight Artistry. We have drawn from Insight artistry workshops in which we focused on how individuals respond to polarizing issues and ensuing situations.
